Yes, the parachute cord reins are
washable. If your reins are a combination of a light and a
dark color - PLEASE test the end of the rein first to make sure
the darker color doesn't bleed. But as far as we know, none of
the colors will bleed. We have had great success with
washing our reins.
We take all the hardware off and
then put them in the washing machine - ours is a front load with
no agitator - and a mild soap. You could also wash them in
a bucket or the sink. Use cold water, not
warm or hot. We have also used a little fabric softener in the
rinse cycle to soften them a little and make them more flexible.
Then hang to dry.
If you have the split reins with the
leather poppers, you should use a bucket or the sink and
try to keep the leather out of the soapy water. Then apply a leather conditioner to the
poppers after you've washed the reins and the leather is dry. |

The rope halters are also washable,
we've washed them in our washing machine as well. They
should also be hung to dry. |
