Our lead ropes are made from polyester double braid yacht rope,

made especially for the equine industry.

The 1/2" solid black rope is made by PNW Select in Washington state.  

The 5/8" solid black rope is also made by PNW Select .

Both of the PNW Select ropes are excellent quality ropes with a smooth tight braid so that they will not snag easily.  We use the 1/2" with our quarter horses and have been very pleased with it.

The 5/8" black with blue tracer rope is made by Samson Rope Company. 

 

 We also have cotton rope available in 5 colors.

The lead rope should be tied to the halter using a Sheet Bend Knot.  Thread the rope thru the lead rope loops on the halter from the back of the loops.  Then pass the rope end around behind the

loops to your right.  Bring the rope end around and pass over the halter loops and then under the lead rope itself.  For a more secure knot wrap the lead rope end around a second time and back under itself.

With the "rope only" option both ends are melted to reduce unraveling and fraying of the rope, we've also added a parachute cord knot at each end to help keep the ends secure.

These lead ropes are melted at one end and spliced with

a popper attached at the other end.  We also have lead ropes spliced at both ends listed below.  The splice is hand stitched and then covered with a parachute cord knot.

These lead ropes have a loop at the halter end and a leather popper attached at the other end.

These are beautiful rich colors.  The same colors go all the way thru the rope.
